Carrefour’s new business intelligence application

Smile installed Palo Web, an application that performs data compilations, evaluations with validation, and data displays in the form of complex graphs, for the Carrefour Group’s IT Security Department.

Its evaluations had been done using Excel files, leading to cumbersome use, complicated maintenance and limited upgradability. Naturally, Carrefour, a loyal Smile client for a number of years now, called on our teams to fulfil this BI assignment.

Smile recommended the use ofPalo Web, to make the surveys accessible from the different countries, wherever they are located. Thequality of the graphsavailable in Palo Web was another decisive point.

The main functionalities implemented were:

  • Use ofdata entry in Paloto respond to surveys;
  • Use ofweb services to call ETL jobsand synchronise cubes.

There were high expectations in terms of user-friendliness and graph quality, as well as management of a mini-workflow for survey validation.

Carrefour now enjoys the benefits of a maintainable, upgradable, web accessible application.
