Extranet Platform

Extranet Platform

The implementation of an Extranet platform solves many issues by: informing suppliers of changes in your requirements, enabling sales executives away on business to view stock levels, offering clients the possibility of tracking how a project is going, to place an order or make a payment. All of these services have one thing in common:they make it easier to manage and improve your relationshipswith all key stakeholders that are located outside of your company,by opening the boundaries of your company..

  • Our platforms meet your requirements,no matter how complex they are: from confidentially transferring data to third parties (clients, suppliers etc) or to employees that are away on business, to full interconnection with other internal or external information systems.
  • The solutions that we implement are easy to use and scalable: the ease with which they can be implemented and their compliance with international standards ensures you will have high performance at a great price, based on a service orientated architecture.
  • We share with your our expertise in extranet platforms to make the most of your choices, by for example analysing your expectations and the practices of a sample group of key users or by gathering specific technical intelligence.

Which solution should you choose for your Extranet platform?

Our expertise enables us to meet all the requirements of your Extranet platform by concentrating on three distinct functions: informative, application orientated and systemic.

Informative function

The main role of an Extranet platform is to communicate relevant and/or confidential information to preselected contacts. For example, a sales person can look at the features of your product and check the sales conditions. More often than not, this role is taken on by a CMS that combines secure access and detailed management of users' rights.

Application orientated

According to their profile, a user can not only look at information that is relevant to them but they can also use services designed for them in conjunction with your information system. To reuse our example, the salesperson could order 100 examples of your product and be able to trace their order within the system. Generally speaking, it involves developing custom applications linked to a portal oriented CMS.

Systemic function

With this type of extranet, your information system doesn't just communicate with users but also with a partner organisation. For example, daily sales made by each store are consolidated at a regional and then national level. Then, each shop automatically receives a proposition for replenishing stock. Such a project involves analysing the architecture of the different information systems that need interconnecting as well as knowledge on how to migrate applications to web solutions. To do this, our solutions are based on services orientated architecture and make use of webservices to exchange XML data using the SOAP protocol that can be readable by a WSDL interface - whilst complying with standards of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). No matter what your project is, our consultants will help you to design the most suitable project for your technical, operation and organisational requirements by trying to find a balance between the use of generic tools and the development of custom applications.
